Experience / Journey
My 30-year journey in education
National service & first steps
My journey began in 2001 at Homaho in the Central Region during national service, followed by meaningful work at the Kumasi Cheshire Home, supporting discharged psychiatric patients through creative art-based therapy. I later taught at Krobo Girls Senior High School and various special educational institutions across Ghana.
Foundation in special needs
Where my special needs work took root — I taught art and became Educational Coordinator, overseeing teacher training, curriculum planning, student schedules and parent communication. I developed individualised autism schedules, introduced a mushroom-farming PTA project, and initiated the first Sibling workshop at New Horizon.
Into school leadership
At COLEDIC I served as Deputy Head of School, managing staff development and learner needs. I then became Head of School at MULTIKIDS Academy (until March 2013), leading academic and operational growth.
Building something new
I established The Epicentre, a special needs school in Gbawe — reinforcing my commitment to inclusivity and educational development, and visiting many regular schools in the catchment area to introduce the centre.
Educational Director, AACT Centre
Since 2015 I have served as Educational Director at the Autism Awareness Care and Training (AACT) Centre — designing and implementing curriculum, training educators, overseeing performance standards and teaching art to children with communication challenges. My teaching extends to Awaawaa2 (Dansoman & Haatso), where I use art as a tool for communication and emotional development.

Advocacy & public engagement
Raising awareness across borders
I am passionate about upholding the rights of persons with disabilities, with seminars and training in Ghana, Denmark, Israel and the United Kingdom. I have appeared on television and radio, sharing insights in English, Ewe and Twi to educate the public on autism, disabilities and inclusive education.
My philosophy
My motivation
I believe deeply that every individual — regardless of ability — has strengths, potential and a unique voice. My work is driven by the desire to help learners gain confidence, discover themselves, communicate and grow.
"Inclusion is not just my profession — it is my calling."
